I’ve been attempting to write a post for such a long time. I realise it’s been over a month since I wrote my last bog entry. I wanted to write something for MIGRAINE month, but ironically I had too many migraines. I’m also in the middle of writing another post entitle broken or not …, which was or is going to be about me and my broken life; relationships, body, health, everything, but I’m seriously struggling with this one. I’m also struggling with if I should actually post it too as it’s very personal and also included others that may not wish to have their poor ways published online. BUT it is my story … so I may still post it once it’s completed …

WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO? being ill mostly …

Yes absolutely nothing, it may sound like an exaggeration to you reading this, especially if you are a well person, but I’ve been so poorly this last month I’ve barely kept myself above the water line.

I feel like I’m drowning in a see of pain and misty hope …

MISTY HOPE? I have misty hope to move towards …

My misty hopes comes from my desire to live. So I have made myself some much needed care appointments. I have a referral to the only neurologist in Cumbria who can prescribe me with a device called GammaCore, which is a natural alternative method for dealing with Chronic Migraines but has also been trialled in the treatment of other pain conditions. It simply stimulated the vagus nerve. I have an appointment with the Persistent Physical Symptom Service (PPSS), which has replaced our local ME service. And I have also made a connection with First Steps and have been placed on the waiting list to take part in their program which teaches how to cope with conditions.

WHAT ELSE?

I have also began to count my calories. Since getting ill I have gained over five stone in weight and I am fast moving towards the morbidly obese BMI. So NOW is the time for me to take action.

As well as this I have started myself on a mindfulness / meditation program of 15 minutes meditation a day, which I think is making a massive impact on my ability to cope. Next month I’m adding 15 minutes yoga a day to the program.

I also am going to start another DailyOM course, called Be Free From Unhealthy Relationships … watch this space for this one because I will document it again as I have with my other DailyOM course Heal Yourself With Writing …

The FUTURE …

All in all I think I have done myself proud and have made some fine steps towards taking better care of myself. As I think that I’ve done nothing in the month of JUNE I am reminded by rereading the above of just how much I have achieved.
